Vanguard holds final Iraqi Army route clearance graduation

FOB KALSU– Thirty-one Iraqi Army Soldiers graduated from the last class of the Vanguard Brigade’s route clearance course at Forward Operating Base Kalsu Nov. 15. The Lionclaw Route Clearance Academy, which began its first class July 20, taught four iterations of the course to Soldiers in the 31st Brigade, 8th IA Division.

Black Dragons move to new home, teach new Iraqi brigade

JSS KUMAYT– A change in mission returned a field artillery battalion to support training and security efforts in Maysan, Dhi Qar and Muthanna Provinces Nov. 10. The 5th Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, returned to the First Team’s fold after securing a key airport north of Baghdad.

ISF, Long Knives hold border security conference

FOB GARRY OWEN– For the first time in the Maysan Province, leaders from the Iraqi Army, Iraqi Police and Iraqi Border Patrol met with Coalition leaders near the provincial capital of Amarah Nov. 15.
